  • About Christopher Benjamin
    Christopher Benjamin is Of Counsel with International Law Partners, LLP. and a panelist with the ADR firm of Salmon & Dulberg. As a general litigation attorney, arbitrator, mediator, special magistrate, real estate broker and title agent, Christopher has represented hundreds of individuals and companies in the general aspects of law commonly engaged by the average person and their business pursuits. In addition to his law practice of over 20yrs, Mr. Benjamin has been a certified mediator and arbitrator for 15 years and in 2010 he was appointed as a Hearing Officer in the 11th Judicial Circuit’s Traffic Division where he served with excellence until 2020. For over a decade, Christopher has served as a Special Magistrate of code enforcement for cities throughout South Florida. He has also been an arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Agency (FINRA) since 2009. In 2020 (and again in 2022), Christopher was elected to the Florida House of Representatives to represent the people of District 107. Christopher has been the jurist in deciding thousands of legal disputes in a wide variety of legal matters for over fifteen (15) years. Christopher is a Martindale-Hubbell rated “AV Preeminent Attorney,” and he has been recognized by his peers in Florida Trend Magazine, Super Lawyers Magazine, South Florida Legal Guide, and US News and World Report (online directory) as an outstanding attorney in his area of general litigation. Christopher is also admitted to practice in all the federal courts within Florida’s jurisdiction (including Bankruptcy Courts) and the United States Supreme Court. Christopher’s activities in the community included but were not limited to appointments on the Nuisance Abatement Board for City of Miami Gardens, Miami-Dade County Commission on Human Rights, Miami-Dade County Business Enterprise Advisory Committee, Miami-Dade County Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust, Miami-Dade County School Board Attendance & Boundary Advisory Committee and Miami-Dade County School Board Secure Our Future Advisory Committee. In addition to his various professional memberships, Christopher has chaired the Miami-Dade Bar’s Juvenile Committee and Co-Chaired the Solo and Small Firm Division. Christopher has been the president of the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association (formerly known as the Black Lawyers Association) and the Florida Muslim Bar Association. As a jurist, Christopher has been reported to have an excellent temperament and whose rulings have been fair, balanced, thoughtful and just. Christopher presides with patience, empathy and respect for those who come before him and he has a case management style that is effective and efficient. Christopher is a veteran of the United States Army (Desert Storm) and the son of Southern Americans and Caribbean immigrants. He is Zakiyyah Shakir-Benjamin's husband and father of Amir, Layla, Aaliyah and Jannah.
